Gallen-Kallelan museo

Akseli Gallen-Kallela is called the father of Finnish modern decorative and applied art. He was a multi-faceted artist who wanted to design and embody everything on his own, from house drawings and picture frames to furniture and textile details. The studio that houses the museum was also designed by Gallen-Kallela himself, and it's not just an atelier – it's a fairy-tale castle, a fortress and a temple of art at the same time.

There are few permanent exhibits in the museum, and the space is reincarnated depending on the exhibition. The museum alternates between exhibitions: one dedicated to a specific theme in the work of Gallen-Kallel, the next-about other, often contemporary, artists.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the museum has been offering free entry with a Ukrainian passport, created an audio guide in Ukrainian, and displays the Ukrainian flag on the day of our excursions.

Rahamuseo

Finns say "Matti kukkarossa – -" Matti in the wallet " - when they run out of money. This can happen to anyone and anywhere, but there is a place in Helsinki where Matti is not happy, because money never runs out here. They are securely attached to the wall and even protected by glass. This is a museum of money.

We will talk about the history of Finnish money and important figures in this history, about forgeries and signs of authenticity of banknotes, about various banknotes and coins that were used in Finland, and their creators. We'll even touch some of the banknotes.

Hvitträsk (May to September only)

This is the home and office of three architects-Saarinen, Gesellius and Lindgren-that they designed for themselves and their families. There was a new fabulous Art Nouveau style in fashion, the architects were not even 30 years old, but they were already successful, the Finnish nature outside the capital attracted artists and promised peace and inspiration – all the stars came together.

What scandals and intrigues took place inside this gingerbread house, we will find out on the tour. We will also look at the well-thought-out details, admire the magnificent nature, and feel the atmosphere of the house of artists of the early 20th century.

The museum is open from the beginning of May until the end of September.
